Doug brings experience in management and business
development, and has extensive experience as both an internal and external
management consultant. He believes strongly in the values and theories presented
in the workshops and models them in his delivery. He lives these issues in his
own life and at work. Like all Designed Learning Affiliates he treats the client
organization and workshop participants as partners in creating a powerful
learning experience.
Doug is the president of Doug Williams and Associates, an
organization development consulting firm. He has worked with a number of
industries, government agencies, and education systems over the past 18 years.
He has focused on leadership development, valuing and managing diversity,
organizational change, and team and individual effectiveness training. Prior to
founding his consulting firm, he spent 13 years in a number of key management
positions with Digital Equipment Corporation.
His Designed Learning work includes the full series of
Flawless Consulting Workshops, and Managing Differences and Agreement.
His Designed Learning clients include the University of
Michigan, Chase Manhattan Bank, American Express, LL Bean, AT&T, Booz Allen
Hamilton, Xerox, Marriott, Hewlett Packard, Holiday Inn, Orkin Rollins, Johnson
and Johnson, U.S. Postal Service, UPS, GSK, Williams Energy, Coca-Cola, and
ExxonMobil.
Doug’s goal in the classroom is to create a safe learning
environment where participants are able to experience, reflect and make their
own choices about the course content This enables a higher level of commitment
and stronger likelihood for extensive application.
Doug holds degrees in science and engineering from the
University of Maine.
