Importance of Relationships

Many times when a new professional relationship is formed, it is not truly a relationship. A new boss will give a monologue about themselves without ever asking a question about their employees. This leaves employees feeling used and unappreciated. That then leads to the question “how do I let people know that I’m here?”

In a recent phone interview with Dr. Veit U.B. Schenk, Peter Block discussed the importance of the relationship and being a partner in work. Block said he tries to be as useful to each person as possible and give away all the knowledge that he has to give.

By freely giving all that you have to give, you are closer to forming the long term work relationships that you truly want.

Dr. Schenk uses his background in brain research to try and understand how entrepreneurs can use human behavior to give others what they want, while also getting what they want in return. To listen to the entire interview with Peter, visit Dr. Schenk’s website Offline Rule.
