Clóvis Evangelista is an affiliate trainer with Designed Learning. He has over 37 years of professional experience. In his career he developed a diversified international experience performing in technical, supervisory, management and leadership positions with progressive responsibility in work environments, which included industrial plants in numerous countries and corporate office of a multinational corporation. He generally operated out of service groups and departments, including internal audit and consulting.
In 2009, Clóvis had a first contact with flawless consulting theories when he placed hands on Peter Block’s book Flawless Consulting – A Guide to Getting your Expertise Used. He became a reader and student of flawless consulting principles. He started applying flawless consulting principles in his consulting projects. He adopted the flawless consulting five-phase process; he became convinced of the need to deal with the human aspects of any problem - the way the problem is being managed, in addition to the technical/business side of it, to solve issues to the root by involving and engaging people to develop ownership and commitment to change.
In 2012, Clóvis launched and has been the president of the Evangelista & Associates EHS International Consulting in US and of the C.P.Evangelista Consultoria Internacional de MASS in Brazil. The primary focus of his professional work is to provide value to customers by assisting them in improving their businesses.
Clóvis’ firm beliefs in the flawless consulting principles and methodology evolved into his affiliation to Designed Learning. He is committed to modeling the theories presented in the workshops. He treats the client organization and workshop participants as partners in creating a powerful learning experience. He is committed to living the values of authentic relationship and confrontation of difficult issues.
Through his firms, he provides consulting and assists customers in business systems, especially in the areas of environmental, health, safety, business and operational processes. As an affiliate of Designed Learning, he markets, sells and delivers the Designed Learning flawless consulting workshops.
Prior to starting his firms, Clóvis worked for 35 years for Alcoa - 20 years with Alcoa in Brazil and 15 years in the Alcoa Corporate Center in Pittsburgh-USA. Alcoa is the world leader in the aluminum industry. In his career with Alcoa he worked in several areas such as chemical laboratory; safety, industrial hygiene and property loss prevention services; and corporate environmental, health, safety and operational excellence audit. He started as a staff chemist and soon advanced through a series of jobs in leadership position as chief chemist; safety, industrial hygiene and loss prevention manager; corporate environmental audit specialist; corporate environmental, health, safety and operational excellence audit manager with direct responsibility for South America; he served as Lend Forward with Alcoa Operations Management Consulting Group - AOMC, and senior EHS & OpEx audit manager.
Clóvis was a member of the Alcoa Audit Group’s team, who implemented the Corporate Integrated Audit Process in Alcoa which includes disciplines such as Financial and Business Processes, Information Technology, Environmental, Health and Safety, Maintenance, and Operational Excellence.
He planned, staffed, and lead over 250 international EHS and Operational Excellence audits, in over 20 countries around the globe, in North America, Europe, Asia, Oceania/Australia, South and Central America and Caribbean, in a multitude of operation types such as bauxite mining, alumina refineries, aluminum smelters, castings, rollings and extrusions, plastic closure facilities, large hydroelectric power plants, wire harness fabrication facilities, fastening systems, and precision casting units; in operational as well as in construction sites.
With the Alcoa Operations Management Consulting Group, integrated by lean business experts, he developed practical knowledge in consulting in the implementation of lean business methodologies, principles and thinking. He led and supported improvement projects of operational process which resulted in real cost reduction, improved productivity, on-time delivery and profitability in a number of Alcoa locations with multicultural working environment.
Along the years, he provided numerous training on Integrated Audit Process and Self-Assessment to employees of Alcoa plants in numerous countries.
Clóvis received both a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Teaching Certificate in Chemistry by the Chemical Institute of UNESP in São Paulo - Brazil and he completed graduation coursework and conducted scientific research in the area of nuclear chemistry at the Brazilian Atomic Energy Institute.
His native language is Brazilian Portuguese and he speaks fluent English, Spanish, Italian and French.
Clóvis lives in Murfreesboro, TN, USA with his wife. He has a son and a daughter.
