Michael has a rich Organization Development, Quality, and Management Development and Training background. He has considerable experience in both internal and external consulting with more than 14 years of experience as a manager and internal consultant in these functions at McDonnell Douglas companies engaged in information technology, communication systems, aerospace, and electronics, as well as with Bausch & Lomb Surgical’s medical and pharmaceutical businesses. In addition, his career spans a wide array of external consulting with all management levels and industries including IT/ IS, defense, finance, high tech, manufacturing, consumer, and healthcare. From Fortune 500 to mid-size companies, domestic and international, Michael assists clients, working with them as partners to achieve their targeted results.
As Managing Principal of Cristiani Consulting Group, Ltd., Michael applies his expertise to serve the business and its people. He helps business units/ divisions cooperate and promotes teaming across organizational boundaries (inter-group and intra-group collaboration, conflict solutions), crafts talent development (executive coaching, 360° feedback, leader development) and facilitates process improvement (training in six sigma, change and performance initiatives).
His Designed Learning work includes conducting the full series of Flawless Consulting Skills workshops as well as customized applications. Clients include Boeing, Bank One, Corning, Lucent Technologies, AMOCO, Coca-Cola (Mexico), Digital Equipment (Ireland), Marriott, General American Life Insurance, Wendy’s International, US Department of Energy, Cisco, Johnson & Johnson, Tim Hortons (Canada), Shell, Lederle Labs, Bausch & Lomb, HP, REI, Kaiser Permanente, SHL Group (UK, Belgium), Johnson Financial Group, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Blue Cross Blue Shield. Michael earned a doctorate in Counseling Psychology at Indiana University and heads his own independent consulting practice. In addition, he does leadership and cross-boundary work with Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine. St. Louis for Kids, Gateway 180 Homeless, Almost Home, NCCJ, Empowering Young Women are beneficiaries of his pro bono work. As adjunct and visiting business faculty, he has partnered with University of Missouri – St. Louis, Maryville U, and Makerere U (Uganda) in MBA and leader improvement programs.
In our workshops and consulting work, Michael pays attention to the business and individual issues of participants, connects by linking examples from his own consulting repertoire, and invites them to partner with each other to create powerful and practical learning rooted in their real world experience. He helps them transfer the skills and principles to their workplace.
